The Thriller Genre has a great deal in common with the Horror Genre, particularly as two if its most famous sub-genres are horror-thrillers and psychological thrillers! However, it is important for you to understand that they remain distinct genres in their own right albeit with areas of crossover. This unit demonstrates how complex the question of 'genre' is as the differences between two different genres can often be very subtle. To what extent do you think that genres are simply made up category titles to make it easier to consume films? In a way, its not unlike music or Amazon related advertising which suggests other similar products based on your previous purchases.
