Who Owns it and who else owns the studio that runs 'Hey Arnold'?
Hey Arnold is run by the Nickelodean group however, Nickelodeon is owned by Viacom who own MTV and VH1, and is run by Sumner Redstone who is owns one of the biggest media conglomerates in the world that is Viacom and is also one of the biggest media moguls in the world.

Representations
As previously stated above adults are often the victim of many jokes and are portrayed as the bad guys, thus adults are presented as less morally correct than kids, therefore their opinions are only taken into account due to their higher position on the authoritative hierarchy as opposed to the validity of their opinions and orders.

Children are represented as the heroes and the morally correct, the movie states that Arnold is the “little guy” pitted against the “cooperate giants”. The use of the phrase “little guy” appeals to the feeling of being trapped in the parents authoritative regime.

In Hey Arnold they incorporate many stereotypes in which some aspects of their personality are non conventional. Such as Helga who is the stereotypical tough girl but she fancies Arnold, she deals with this by being particularly mean to him, which reverses how the different sexes are stereotypically represented as boys are seen as the ones who tease/bully the girls that they fancy.

However they also incorporate many characters in which are conventionally stereotypical such as the African American kid (whos name escapes me) who is seen always wearing a sports jersey and trainers with an overly conspicuous afro. These stereotypes could be potentially damaging to a very impressionable tween audience; however the stereotypes are not represented in a necessarily negative way, but children may make assumptions about people before they know them.

Audience
The main audience for the movie is children from ages 8-14 directly, focuses on their building drive to rebel against adults and authority, they can relate to having things precious to them being taken away, on this clip such drama is upsized into their whole town being taken away, their entire lives, which is how children sometimes feel as they can be quite hypochondriacal when it comes to what they want and not being allowed to get it. Also uses humor with the adults being the main victims of the jokes, said audience theoretically will enjoy these more than jokes aimed at other ages.

Genre/Sub Genre
'Hey Arnold' is an amination that is generally aimed at the tweenage male demograph and therefore there is quite a large prevalence of sport in the show even though the series doesnt involve sport. Examples of these include the african american friend continuously wearing a jersey everywear and also the touch that Arnold has a 'Football' (rugby ball for us) shaped head. Another genre that is explored in Arthur is adventure because arthur and his friends in the series will usually have some sort of a 'mission' to accomplish by the end of an episode. This type of mission-making is very prevalent in many Nickelodeon cartoons when we look at examples like 'Rugrats' or "Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius'. Another convention of Nicelodean cartoons is that the lead character always has a very unique physical appearance such as the above mentioned football head of Arnold's or Jimmy Neutron's elvis hair and in shows like catdog where you have a cat on a dogs butt or the other way round depending on which animal you think has less dignity.

Narrative
The narrative in Hey Arnold is always revolving around a quest that he has to do to preserve or protect other people and mostly there will always be some sort of a reward like some kind words from his grandfather or Helga which give a sort of winning aspect to the episode. Todorov's narrative theory comes into play in almost every episode because the episode will usually start quite peacefully until Arnold finds out about some sort of a problem which he then has to solve and there is finally a climax and a resolution at the end which will ultimately lead the episode into another state of equilibrium that will set the stage for the next episode mostly.

Why We didn't do Film Studies
We chose to refrain from doing Film Studies for we thought such a difficult and - with all due respect - pointless subject would negatively affect our chances of getting into a decent university as we and our ancestors have craved for centuries. Also we felt it would be better to just to stay away from Mr Williamson after 5 years of perilous torture.

Is there a tradition with studio?
Nickelodeon films are quite like Pixars in the way that they focus on character self discovery and development, teaching kids to always look “on the bright side”. However they place more emphasis on rebelling against authority (like in the Rugrats movie where they run away from home). They do this to appeal to their audience as it nurtures their rebellious drive and want for self discovery.

What is the relevance of film animation to our society?
Film animation is very relevant to our society especially institutions like Nickelodeon which carry a lot of the prime time viewing slots which give it masses of time to reach out to the 8-14 year old demographic that are so important to the animation industry. This is also the age at which children begin to emerge as more mature adults who have begun to part form their choo choo trains and have begun to reach puberty. Therefore shows like Hey Arnold which preach the right way to the younger generation are very important because it is very visible to see that the white teen demographic who see Nick cartoons more often than the Latino's or the Blacks are also less likely to fall into the habits of vices like smoking or drugs. This is a very bold assumption to make however one major point of animations is to teach children what is right or wrong, because you will never have a 15 year old who smokes as the main character and no matter how muich we run from it A LOT of 15 year olds in the states do smoke.
