First, download and complete the document linked at the bottom of the page. Take some time over filling it in; it can help you a lot.

When completed, save it in your Media Studies file (you should have a folder devoted to 'Exams'.)

Then, post your advice on this page. Make it useful; that is, offer some genuine, specific advice about how to approach questions, how to revise, what to avoid and so on. Simply writing 'Revise harder' isn't actually much use! Also, most of your advice will probably be relevant to only one or two questions; so make clear which question you are talking about!

Note that time allocation in the exam should be as following:

Q1- 10 minutes
Q2- 20 minutes
Q3- 15 minutes
Q4- 15 minutes
Q5- 10 minutes
Q6- 20 minutes
Q7- 15 minutes
Q8- 15 minutes

GCSE- Advertising in Print & Electronic Media: Q6

Each year, WJEC set two practical tasks as part of the GCSE examination. Q2 & Q6 are always practical in nature and fairly easy to predict. The task is likely to be similar to the following:

a. Come up with a name for a new product aimed at a teenage audience. (Possibly a new product for an existing brand)
b. Sketch a print based advertisement which will be used to target your audience.
c. Annotate your design explaining the key features of appeal to your audience.
d. Justify your design ideas explaining how it will appeal to a teenage audience.
e. How would you use other media forms to help promote your product?

Make sure you have this prepared before the examination as a sample response as you will only have 20 minutes in the examination to answer this question. Remember that you need to show your understanding of advertising and particularly lines of appeal (advertising strategies) which will help you sell your product.
