You are going to design a new animation aimed at teenagers. Answer the following questions.
1. Choose a name for your animation and one or two of the main characters. Decide which institution would be suitable to develop the idea.
2. Sketch a character design for your character(s).
3. Annotate your design, explaining how your character will appeal to your target audience.
4. Write a paragraph explaining how you would market your animation.
SOME ADVICE:
Remember that what you design should be replicable VERY QUICKLY in the exam!
Look
here
for analyses of some existing characters.
Think about all that you know; audience, institutions, narrative, genre, ideology, representation. Does your design (and. possibly more importantly, your annotations) SHOW that you know all, or some, of this stuff? Or is it little more than a doodle?
This question basically tests your ability to understand audience appeal. HAVE you actually considered the audience in your design? Have you tried to appeal to more than one audience? Can you identify those different audiences and can you explain the various lines of appeal you have cunningly used to make your character (s) appeal to them?
