Animation - Major and Independent StudiosThis is a featured page

Who made this? Are they a major (owned by a conglomerate) or an independent (run... um... independently) studio? How do you know?

A few pointers - are the representations ALTERNATIVE or DOMINANT? The ideologies? What quality is the animation? What synergy is being used, or how is star appeal and star theory relevant here? Who is it aimed at? How do you know? Why is it aimed at these people?

All of this should tell us that this is produced by a MAJOR studio. Consider these (drug references and swearing within...):

Fritz the Cat (made by Ralph's Spot in 1972)

The Spirit of Christmas (made by Trey Parker and Matt Stone)

How do these films differ in terms of representation, style, audience, narrative, ideology? How can yu tell that these are INDEPENDENT productions?
